Silvester – New Year’s Eve is a special day celebrated by many people in the traditional way with champagne, firecrackers and rockets. However, to make Silvestival® a safe event for all, it is not permitted to bring fireworks and bottles. But please remember: the routes between the venues will not be free of bangers!

Invitation to a Journey of Discovery
Each programme is repeated three times before midnight. The musical blocks last 40 minutes each, and the theatre modules last 20-30 minutes each. This time structure allows you to move from one venue to the next and enjoy various programmes. For your orientation, all Silvestival® venues will be marked with a banner and a rotating light.
During the night, keep checking on the Silvestival® Facebook page to get up-to-date programme tips, information and news on the events. To the Silvestival Facebook Fan Page >
Food and Drink
You will probably already have eaten your New Year’s Eve dinner before the Silvestival® starts at 9 p.m. But there will be finger food or a bowl of soup, something warm and spicy at midnight to delight your palate. Many venues will serve non-alcoholic drinks and warm drinks, but also cocktails, beer, wine, and, of course, sparkling wine.
(Almost) Barrier-Free Access
Most venues have barrier-free access or at least partially barrier-free access. But please talk to us at any time, if you need assistance. For exact details check here >

The Silvestival® will take place in (almost) all weather conditions. Most venues are indoors and therefore relatively independent of the weather. In the outdoor venues, St Catherine’s, Klarissenplatz and Künstlerhaus/Kulturgarten, the programme will be performed if at all possible. There will be no replacement programme, if programmes in these venues have to be cancelled.
Public Transport with Ticket/
More transport available on New Year’s Eve
The ticket entitles you to use the VGN public transport network to get to the festival and back and during the event. The ticket is valid four hours before the start of the event until the close of service (entire public transport network, DB 2nd class in trains free of extra charge).
The VAG will increase its services and take you home safely after the Silvestival®. All underground lines will operate all night, with trains every 10 minutes.

Organiser’s General Terms and Conditions
Entrance to the Silvestival® is only by valid and undamaged Entrance Wristlet issued by the organiser. When you present your ticket at the venue entrance, the stewards will give you a wristlet and also fasten it around your wrist. Tickets will be cancelled as soon as you are issued with a wristlet and will no longer be valid as festival tickets. But please keep your ticket, since it also serves as a public transport ticket!
Limits to Admission
Access to individual venues with a limited capacity will only be permitted up to the officially sanctioned audience capacity. At individual venues, therefore, there may temporarily be no admission, without any claim for partial refund of the ticket price.
At the venue entrance, for reasons of security and order as well as prevention of refuse, a security check will be performed by the stewards.
Do Not Bring
There is a ban on fireworks and other pyrotechnics, on glass containers, cans, PET bottles, animals, tape recorders, professional photography, weapons of all kinds and other dangerous items! If these are found, the organiser is entitled to refuse access to the event, unless the visitor is prepared to deposit the above-named item(s) elsewhere or hand them in to the stewards. Neither the steward services nor the organisers accept liability for objects handed in to them.
No Sound and Image Recordings
Sound, film and video recordings of the events are not permitted, not even for private use! Contraventions will be prosecuted.
Visitors irrevocably agree to gratuitous use of their images and their voices for photographs, live broadcasts, broadcasts and/or recordings of image and/or sound recordings made by the organisers, their agents or other third parties in the context of the event, as well as the use of all of these in all current and future media at all times.
Programme changes may occur in festivals. In case of cancellation by individual artists, the organisers will try to find adequate replacements. Visitors have no claim due to the cancellation by individual artists.
